In March 2020 the whole of the UK went into lockdown. At this time Sanntangle® was in its early years and small classes were taking place in and around the local area whilst twice monthly appearances on the TV shopping channels helped with publicity and sales.
Tile Number 1 went ahead and the phone where I went live was attached to a stand with string and I couldn’t see the messages over the top. I had to stand on the front bars of a chair throughout the whole live.
After the first twelve tiles we continued and did another twelve and then another. The UK came out of lockdown and even though normality resumed, we continued doing the live tiles as we felt that we had found something that connected people.
The Tiles and doing the weekly lives are the backbone of the business and we will never forget the support in the early days and how loyal everyone still is today.
So, did I ever think that we would get to 500? Yes I think I did. I believe in what I am doing and that everyone else feels that it is still part of their life in however small a way.
So how do I feel about this challenge?
I wanted to mark the occasion in some way and of course share it with all of the Sanntangle family, so this seemed the ideal way. Its not just about receiving the tiles, although Its fantastic to see how everyone has grown in skills and confidence. It has been the message behind them and the reasons why some pieces touch not just your heart but your soul too that have been fantastic to read.
I am not just proud of Sanntangle and how it has grown but I’m proud of each and every person who picks up a pen or a pencil and gives it a go. We will continue to receive tiles until we reach our target of 500 and I would like to thank everyone for taking time out to be part of something and send us a piece of yourself in the form of a tile.
